So, I am not gonna bother telling you my name. You should already see it somewhere. Well, I am a proud Mexican who does not expect to make a flash in his life. Lack of tools. Sorry.

So I finally found a... minor way to contribute anything to newgrounds aside from reviews. I have chosen to pick a flash every now and then and rant about it. I mean, not just any flash, just one my disturbed mind finds extraordinary or enlightening in some way. I hope anyone who comes here reads this. Not likely either.
So, lets start with the plumber. I saw the flash and tough it kicked ass. I've never been on acid but it kind of gives you an idea of how would it be like. And that was interesting. The art is not a Luis kind of art, but it is good. So why is this flash so great? Lets analyze it in depth.
The story starts with some kid playing mario, we can all relate to that I think. Then his sink breaks. The kid searches the yellow pages to find a plumber and casually stumbles on one that reads Mario Bros. Plumbing service. he calls, then one short, fat plumber in a Mario-esque clothing comes. The kid mistakes him for the real mario, gives him one of his hallucinating shrooms he keeps (misteriously) in his garden. The guy has an incredible acid trip, hits his head on the sink and dies a pathetic death. The main thing about this piece is the acid trip the plumber goes. But that is not what caught my attention. The KID is the one who caught my attention. Why? Because he reflects the inherent danger in anything that offers an alternative reality, in this case videogames.
Woah woah! don't murder me just yet! Am I a blasphemer who says video games are the tools of the devil? Hell No! I am a gamer also! I am just saying this: An alternative reality is lots of fun, but to the wrong mind it can be a killer. And the kid in Haroshi's work embodies this. Feeding the plumber a mushroom then burying him in his garden when he dies. And it happens in any level. Don Quixote is an ancient example, the man who read to many knight novels and believed himself a knight. The kids who jumped some building when seeing superman, and more recently the school shooters. You cant really blame enternainment for all this things, as many people do. This guys just found some other way to live their lives, either by killing themselves while playing like some poor dude in Korea, or getting a gun and just shoot people and places they dislike. Who in their right mind would do that? no one. Just some dudes that lost themselves, angry or scared or dissapointed in the wolrd around them, and who found a way out. So who is to blame for all this? The entertainment industry? Their families? the world? Who knows...
